Adult and Family Services

The Adult and Family Services programs within the Community Services Division of Redwood Community Action Agency (RCAA) provide diverse and comprehensive services to clients who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, disabled, and are of low to moderate income.  We also have one of the only  Detox-Substance Use Disorder residential programs in Humboldt County.

A list of ongoing donation needs is listed underneath the program descriptions.

THE WATERFRONT RECOVERY SERVICES PROGRAM (WRS)

Waterfront Recovery Services (WRS) is a new (opened November 2017) 56-bed medically managed detoxification and residential addiction treatment center located at 2413 2nd Street, Eureka, CA at the former Multiple Assistance Center (The MAC) next to Target.

The facility is jointly operated by Redwood Community Action Agency (RCAA) and Alcohol/Drug Care Services (ADCS).  This unique partnership will allow for comprehensive substance use disorder treatment from a multi-disciplinary team and aftercare services which include assistance with life skills, employment, education, family reunification and housing.

WRS is staffed with an addiction psychiatrist, Dr. Ruby Bayan, who serves as the medical director for the facility.  Our multi-disciplinary team includes the following: RN's, LVN's, Substance Abuse Counselors, Mental Health Clinicians, Case Manager's, and Housing Specialists.  Of the 56 beds total, 20 of those will be for medicaly managed detox and 36 beds for longer term residential treatment.
