AmeriCorps Housing Support Partnership

This Program has been discontinued.

The AmeriCorps Housing Support Partnership (AHSP) is a new national service program administered by Redwood Community Action Agency.

The Mission of the AHSP program is to assist individuals and families in our community to transition into and sustain permanent housing. This is done through relationship based long-term intensive case management and by linking clients to community resources, employment and community engagement.  AHSP members serve in close collaboration with a variety of agencies throughout Humboldt County to learn how to best support their clients throughout their service term.

AHSP Members:

  • Provide on-going housing case management to individuals and families who are homeless, newly housed or whose housing is being threatened.
  • Strategize with clients to create a plan with realistic goals and timelines related to housing, employment, financial and health related needs.
  • Assess and document progress toward meeting set goals and timelines.
  • Meet with clients weekly to assist with connecting to resources and ensuring that basic household needs are taken care of.
  • Assist clients in preparing for employment or community engagement by providing job skill development and job placement assistance.
  • Provide transportation to help with housing retention, health, and employment or community engagement activities.
