RCAA provides energy assistance to eligible clients through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Through LIHEAP, RCAA is able to assist eligible households with payments or purchases of electricity, propane, natural gas, heating oil, or firewood.

The energy assistance program’s eligibility is based upon the household’s income and family size. This service is provided on a once-per-year basis for eligible households.



HEAP: Assistance with a clients’ electric and natural gas bill.

Fast Track: Assistance with a client’s electric & natural gas bill for clients with a shut-off notice from the utility company.

Wood/Propane/Heating Oil:  Assistance with the purchase or payment of firewood, propane, heating oil, or kerosene bill.

Furnace Repair/Replacement: Assistance with repairing or replacement of a heating unit. These resources are very limited.


For Humboldt County we take calls every Monday starting at 9:00am,

And take calls until our schedule for the week is filled. Should we be closed on a Monday due to a Holiday, we will take calls the following business day.
