Community Programs Donation

Volunteer

We are currently seeking volunteers to prepare tax returns in the local community through Redwood Community Action Agency’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program for the 2012 tax season (January 16th – April 15th).  The VITA Program offers free tax preparation services for low-to-moderate income households throughout Humboldt and Del Norte counties including locations in Eureka, Arcata, Redway, Rio Dell, Fortuna, Loleta, Blue Lake, Klamath, Weitchpec and Crescent City.   Volunteer today to help families receive the tax refunds they deserve and put money back into our local economy!  It is also a chance to engage with the public, build your resume, and be a part of a rewarding and educational experience!  Free training will be provided to become IRS-certified, and volunteers can expect to spend 3-15 hours per week preparing returns – hours are flexible.  There is no experience necessary to apply and bilingual interpreters are encouraged.  For more information, please contact the

VITA Program Coordinator, Lindsay DeWitt at (707) 269-2016.
