Family Services Donation
The transitional shelter programs of RCAA Family Services Multiple Assistance Center (MAC) is a 24 hour staffing facility for families and children who are in early stages of rebuilding their lives, making healthier choices and building upon their family strengths to become more self-sufficient, economically secure and more competitive to obtain and maintain housing. Gently use or new items are always welcome.
Cash Donations would be used to:
- Supplement the fresh fruits and vegetables for our fully licensed meal service
- Keep the first aid kits well stocked
- Provide incentives to families doing well in the program. Examples of this are passes to movie night, the zoo, bowling, the Discovery Museum, and community activities. Other incentives might be a coffee card or $5.00 gift certificates to Walgreens, Target or CVS for those little “extras” that a tight budget does not allow
- Arts and Craft supplies for both adult and children’s group activities
- New or gently used board games.
- Purchase copies of the Oprah Book Club series for “book club” classes
- Twin sized bedding and blankets
- Crib sheets and blankets
- Towels and washcloths
- Diapers, wipes, women’s hygiene items
- Pens, pencils, binders for children and participants
- Sturdy wooden chest of drawers or night stands for bedrooms
The Family Shelter program allows up to five families to live communally in a larger home. The Bridge House or Safe Haven is our county’s only long term shelter for domestic violence. Clients move from those facilities into their own permanent housing.
There is a constant need for:
- Twin sized bed linens, pillows and blankets
- Towels and washcloths
- Cookware, serving utensils, dishes, cups and plastic ware for children’s use
- Board Games for all ages
- Diapers, wipes andwomen’s hygiene items
- Yard tools and support for gardening days

If you want to volunteer:
- Can you come to help serve lunch or dinner?
- Can you spend time reading to children in a one on one setting?
- Do you like to play board games with children or adults?
- Do you enjoy gardening and helping others to learn about container gardening?
- Do you have a hobby or talent that you would like to share with others?
- Are you someone who likes to play piano or teach basic piano to children?
- Are you the "welcoming and smiling" person to sit at the front desk, greet people and answer phones?
