Natural Resources Garden Project - April 8th

Garden Work Day Saturday April 8th to Help Feed Our Community

Abuelita’s Demonstration Garden in Eureka is hosting a Garden Work Day on Saturday April 8 from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. to prepare the garden for Spring planting. The garden provides fresh organic food for homeless members of the community staying at Redwood Community Action Agency’s Multiple Assistance Center shelter. Volunteers will get free food including sandwiches and snacks, and free garden resources like planting charts and plant starts. Personal assistance with completing forms for CalFresh (formerly food stamp) benefits will also be provided. CalFresh benefits can purchase seeds or plant starts for growing food.

Abuelita’s Demonstration Garden is coordinated by Redwood Community Action Agency, and located in the backyard of their Energy Demonstration Center in Eureka at 539 T Street. This is a rain or shine event. Please dress accordingly, and bring gloves if you have them.
