In light of Gavin Newsom's 3/19 Shelter-in-Place order, RCAA will be closing our offices to the public. There will be staff present at the main administrative office at 904 G St. to take calls and speak to folks at the door, for the purpose of sharing information/referrals and receiving documentation from clients (call 269-2001).
Our Energy & Environmental Services division will still be providing assistance with heating fuel and PG&E bills (call 444-3831 x202) but will not be meeting with clients in person.
For the time being, the Eureka Bike Kitchen is closed, volunteer garden hours are canceled (though the gardens are still accessible), and The RAVEN Project is closed. Our shelter programs, including PACT and the Youth Service Bureau will remain operational, albeit with heightened security and safety precautions. We thank you for your patience in these difficult times. Stay calm, wash your hands, and sit tight. We'll get through this together, as a community.
How do RCAA's programs impact you?
- Natural Resouces Services (NRS) works directly with Humboldt County community leaders, schools and parents to improve safety and encourage more children to safely walk and bicycle to school. NRS helps coordinate both the Greater Eureka and Humboldt County Safe Routes to School Task Forces.
- Teaching preschoolers oral health care is a result of the TOOTH program.
- Natural Resources Services works with community members, civic groups and local jurisdictions to enhance neighborhood street tree planting and support the development of community forests for public access and watershed protection.
