The Community Bike Kitchen provides tools, resources and knowledgeable mechanics to empower residents to maintain and repair bikes, particularly those that lack the access, or the means, to purchase a new bicycle.

The Community Bike Kitchen is a grass-roots collaboration between community residents and community-based organizations including Redwood Community Action Agency, West Side Community Improvement Association and the Humboldt County Transitional Age Youth Collaboration.

The Community Bike Kitchen is open Tuesdays and Wednesday evenings 6-8pm.

The Community Bike Kitchen will operate through the dedication of volunteers and donations and contributions from the community. All our bicycles have been acquired through donations from Humboldt State University Police Department, Adventure’s Edge and local residents. We are still in need of some important bicycle tools – contact us if you are interested in supporting the Community Bike Kitchen!

How do RCAA's programs impact you?

  • Natural Resouces Services (NRS) works directly with Humboldt County community leaders, schools and parents to improve safety and encourage more children to safely walk and bicycle to school. NRS helps coordinate both the Greater Eureka and Humboldt County Safe Routes to School Task Forces.
  • Teaching preschoolers oral health care is a result of the TOOTH program.
  • Natural Resources Services works with community members, civic groups and local jurisdictions to enhance neighborhood street tree planting and support the development of community forests for public access and watershed protection.
